Sveti Stefan
The tiny islet of Sveti Stefan is the most iconic image associated with Montenegro. After several phases of careful renovation the islet is today home to Aman Sveti Stefan offering unique, luxury accommodation amongst original stone buildings.
Sveti Stefan is a small town in Montenegro. It used to be a typical Mediterranean fishing village, but it was converted into the old town in 1960 with its tower, narrow streets, shops and small churches, remained unchanged.
Sveti Stefan is an unusual and unique place not only when it comes to Montenegrin Riviera, it is quite atypical for the whole Mediterranean. It stands on the cliff of a rocky island with roofs red like rubies. A sand isthmus looking like a stem connects it with the land.
In past decades, Sveti Stefan was known as a luxury resort, frequented by world stars such as Sophia Loren, Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton and many other world famous personalities.
Today it is possible to visit it as a guest of the hotel and restaurant Aman, but also during the few church holidays, when the procession of the faithful visit the centuries-old monastery.
